Went up into darkest Lancashire today to find some bargains after Christmas, The weather turned really grim and we ended up in Huntleys at Salmesbury!http://www.huntleys.co.uk/ 'Result' Great destination with a great selection of top foods -- excellent cheese selection and the Wine selection contains some great lables. Some good meats too--The beef skirt was a great change from the usual cuts and sliced across the grain produced a good Stroganoffish thing. Always a warm greeting from The excellent Eddie Cowpe Who concieved the "Moo To You" ice cream brand--Well worth a try! (I put it in Liverpool cathedral refectory) Passed the Northcote Manor, another oasis in the Ribble vale and then around to Clitheroe to have a root around Byrnes Wine cellar, got a great Burgundy---What a selection! You could spend a day there and still be undecided about the choice--Dont believe me---Go and see!
A59 well dodgy with all the mush and slush freezing on the road! Its usually a great drive through some delightful countryside!
Run for home!!!!
