This is a Sussex white, quite a heavy bird and dominant in this three bird social unit It is top of the pecking order but not overly assertive it is the bird that is most likely to miss a day where laying is concerned, however , it has produced some monster double yolked eggs apparently to make up for slacking.
The eggs are superb for baking and make sponge cakes appear as if food colouring has been used , As a poached egg they gel well and never spread , A soft albumen encasing a sunshine yellow yolk with a superb flavour. I put this down to the ammount of vegetation in their diet.
